I have recognized the value that parental involvement plays in students success inside and outside of the classroom. I encourage my students parents to visit our classroom when they feel the need to be apart of their child's education. This allows the students to become familiar with support of the people around them, and how those people want success for not only their education, but the rest of their lives.
Communication is also key. I believe that it is my duty to involve parents in the knowledge of what their students are accomplishing in the classroom. With the ability to know the important content their children are learning, parents will have a general idea of how well they are mastering the content.

This year, I will use ClassDojo as a communication tool for you to be familiar with what happens in the classroom over the year. You will be able to view photos of class activities, status updates from myself about important events happening at school, and also messages regarding your child's progress. Below, I have included the steps in joining our very own ClassDojo. Enjoy!

Here's How You Can help
Whenever I feel that my students are not grasping the content presented to them as fast as I hope they will, or I simply just want the students to have extra practice, I will send home a Zip Kit. Zip Kit's are activities that can be done at home with parents or guardians. These activities will be based on the lesson or content we have been learning recently. All contents needed for the activity, are included in a gallon sized Ziploc bag, along with detailed instructions. I ask that when your child has the opportunity to bring a Zip Kit home, that you will take the time to sit down and assist your child in this activity. This will help me and yourself have a general understanding on where your child is sitting on mastery of the content.
